News for the Week of Oct 16

posted Oct 16, 2017, 6:29 AM by Penny Skildum

Hurricane Relief Update:  Peace was able to provide $700 in relief funds for the hurricanes and 13 buckets of much needed supplies.  If you still have a bucket to fill, there is still time to bring it to church.

The Fifth Sunday is coming.  The Finance Committee is continuing the Fifth Sunday Giving Program which was started last year.  Here is the idea.  Most people figure their giving to the church on a monthly basis.  Most months have 4 Sundays.  So, the fifth Sunday is an EXTRA Sunday.  It happens 4 or 5 times a year.  We are asking you give a little extra on that extra day.  The full amount collected for “Fifth Sunday” will be paid directly on the principal of the mortgage.  In 2016, we paid $3285.00 from Fifth Sunday giving, and we only did it 3 times.  Thank you so much for your generous support.  We are making a difference.  The next Fifth Sunday is October 30, 2017.  All you need to do to participate is bring in a donation marked “Fifth Sunday” in the memo.  If you will not be at Worship that day, it can be brought earlier or mailed in.  The amount is totally up to you.  No amount is too small.  Thank you in advance.  You are the best.  We can do this!

New for the Week of June 12

posted Jun 12, 2017, 7:15 AM by Penny Skildum

NEW THIS WEEK

L.I.F.E. is underway at Peace!  Fourteen people interested in “Living In Full Effectiveness” met on May 31 to plan future events of fellowship, entertainment and education.  All are welcome to join us for our first outing of the summer!  On Wednesday June 14, we will meet at the outdoor pavilion at the Shoreview Community Center for the summer kick-off “Concert in the Commons”.  The popular Backyard Band is back, starting at 7:00 p.m. with rockin’ oldies from the 60’s to today’s hits.  Ice cream will be served, compliments of the Shoreview Community Foundation.  Bring your lawn chair, and bring a friend, for this great Shoreview summer tradition!
