New This Week:

First Quarter Contribution Statements are ready for you to pick up in the Commons Area.

Spring Work Day.  All interested members and friends of the Peace Community are invited to participate in a trustees sponsored work day on May 2nd.  The major project for the day will be to complete the landscaping work on the Hodgson Road side of the church building which was begun two years ago with Ryan Kaufer's Eagle Scout project.  Workers will be tearing out the weed mixture turf around the big fir trees at the entrance to our parking lot, laying down a layer of black dirt and new sod, installing an irrigation system for the area, pruning the fir trees and the adjacent apple tree, improving the water runoff area from the gutter downspout on that corner of the building and using the chipped remains of trees cut down in the oak wilt mitigation project last December to mulch under the fir trees.  Jim Kaufer is heading up the planning for this project and will be onsite coordinator.  The assistance of many people will both make the work go faster and make it more enjoyable.  Please put this date on your calendar now and watch for a way coming soon to formally sign up to be a part of this project.  Last fall, the church leadership team also authorized the raising of funds to cover the cost of materials for this project, which should be in the $1,000 to $1500 range.  Donations can be made at any time, marked May Work Day Project.
