News for the Week of July 13

Holden Evening Prayer: Our new Wednesday evening services have been meeting! Jean Broberg commented, “It’s a nice break in the middle of the week, this is wonderful.” The worship experience lasts approximately 45 minutes followed by friendly conversation and a snack. We have added a new element of a camp fire to our Wednesday evening worship experience which was enjoyed by everyone there.

The Pride Festival was wonderful! Thank you to the members of the Peace Community of Faith who walked in the parade and help at the Reconciling Ministries booth.  Because of your presence thousands of members of the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgendered, Queer and Ally (GLBTQA) community from all over the US were blessed. Looking into one another’s eyes and seeing such a sense of affirmation is indeed a great and powerful blessing.  Tens of thousands of rainbow peace medallions were handed out by the volunteers at the Reconciling booth, rain and thunder didn't stop the volunteers from staying Sunday afternoon and handing out rainbow peace medallions until they were gone.  "A good time was had by all!"

Silent Auction:  It is not too early to start thinking about what items you have to donate or would like to make for Peace’s silent auction coming up in October (see looking ahead).
