Back-To-School!  Dear Peace Community, for over a decade, Peace UMC has partnered with the tutoring program in a variety of ways at the Good Neighbor Center (formerly known as the Berean Church).  It’s time to prep for back-to-school! Last year Peace UMC assisted with supplying approximately 65 students with school supplies for the year.  Over the past year, our program has continued to grow.  We are estimating that we will supply about 100 students with backpacks and school supplies for the upcoming academic year.  We are seeking monetary donations to buy the school supplies to fill back packs which have already been donated.  Donors have already purchased 150 backpacks.  We are asking for monetary donations because we can buy supplies in bulk; however, donations in good condition are also greatly appreciated and will not go to waste!  Please complete the form and include it with your check which can be made out to “Good Neighbor Center” and placed in the offering plate, given to Amanda Jacobson, Bob Kohl or Mark & Sally McCarville and/or other donations can be left in the commons area of Peace in the boxes marked Tutoring.  Please feel free to use the ‘regular’ offering envelopes in the pews. You will receive a tax donation receipt from the Good Neighbor Center. Other ways to be involved, if you are interested in tutoring, we are a drop in program for youth and volunteers! We meet Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. We serve dinner at 6:30 PM and start tutoring at 7 PM.  Also, if you’re looking to get a new car, you could donate your old car to Bob’s Auto Ranch and 100% of the sale will go towards the program.
