News for the Week of May 18

Special thanks to Ethan Beauclaire, Calvin Denker, Ryan Feidt and Alex Einck for their musical contributions to our worship service this morning - and to Calvin's mom, Jill, who listened to the pieces they played for us this morning in a small room with one other parent and the contest judges and felt that it would be nice if the music could be shared with a larger audience.

Equal Exchange has been in the fair trade business since 1986.  For 29 years, they’ve been

  • building long-term mutually beneficial trade partnerships with small-scale farmer cooperatives,

  • offering pre-harvest credit and financing to support farmers during off seasons, and Fair Trade premiums provide funding for projects like new schools, roads, and clean water—for healthier and more sustainable communities, and

  • promoting democratic organization, empowering women, and encouraging economic development around the world.

Thank you for your purchases of Equal Exchange’s fairly-traded coffee and chocolate at Peace Church.  And by the way, the shipment of chocolate has arrived—check it out!
